Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
This show holds a special place in my heart - I’ve watched every episode of the first 9 seasons probably back to back, can recite nearly all the best jokes and have also literally made a chardee macdennis inspired boardgame back in highschool. The anti-friends premise pretty much means the longer it goes the better it gets, it makes it so that all the flanderization and progressive degradation of the main & supporting cast are intentional and great for longevity. Also because the whole cast are literally terrible people I never feel bad when anything bad happens to them AND i get to laugh at their stupidity its a win-win.
Scrubs

Some of the jokes on Scrubs has admittedly not aged the best since 2001 … there were def a lot of I’m a BOY and she’s a GIRL jokes that ick me out upon rewatch. But what differentiates scrub from other raunchy tv shows and also other medical shows is how suprisingly realistic a show with a psychopathic janitor character could be - even as a non-medical person. There’s discussion about ass-kissing, being a new hire at a workplace, departmental dynamics, career progression, cliques etc. that I really liked ! It was really comforting to watch when I struggled at work. I especially related to Elliot who always had a foot in her mouth and gave everyone a terrible first impression at work … I’ve been there is all i can say. multiple times. It’s also given me a lot of insight into the emotional and ethical aspects of being in medicine. They don’t really shy away from patients dying and staff becoming numb to suffering and death due to burnout. Also the main cast aren’t JUST doctors! They have janitors, lawyers, nurses, cafeteria workers, board members etc. that make it feel like Sacred Hearts is a REAL hospital which is sick !!

Dirk Gently's Holistic Dating Agency

This is one of the most quirked up shows I've ever seen - like I'm genuinely suprised Netflix greenlit this. Based on an Adam Douglas novel of the same name, this TV show is about a guy who solves strange and bizzare cases by ... doing nothing. Like he just kinda wanders around and then shit happens. It's actually really fun trying to piece everything together yourself as Dirk is equally as confused as you are since he stumbles into a situation just by random luck. He's like a reverse Sherlock Holmes? He's just vibes. If you love shows with a strange and kooky cast of characters and bizzaro humor you'll love this.

The White Lotus

I love this show because it encompasses a very important message - people are complicated. you can agree with someone and STILL think their assholes, people in happy marriages can be deeply unhappy, someone can be a victim and a perpretrator - and that's awesome because I love that it makes me feel complicated emotions. It actually strangely enough reminds me of what it feels like to watch a Michael Haneke film cause I can really tell the director is trying to make me uncomfortable by coming to terms with all these contradictory thoughts in my head. There's been a LOT of moments where i'm like logically I agree with this guy ... but why the FUCK is he so annoying and I hate him ... and vice versa. Turns out we're all biased as fuck because we are humans. I love pausing every 10 minutes to speculate about a characters motivations & to try and predict what happens in the next episode.
